Francesco Vecchione (b. Napoli, Italy, in 1982) has danced with Ballet Basel, Nederlands Dans Theater II, Compañía Nacional de Danza (first under the direction of Nacho Duato and later, José Carlos Martínez), and the Ballett des Saarländischen Staatstheaters (first under the direction of Marguerite Donlon and later, Stijn Celis).
He has performed both existing works and creations by Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Nacho Duato, Paul Lightfoot and Sol León, Stijn Celis, Marguerite Donlon, Johan Inger, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Alexander Ekman, Stephan Thoss, and Hans van Manen, amongst others.
He began his dance education at the Balletto Teatro Scuola di Rossella Rossi in Napoli. In 1994, he won a scholarship to join the Academie de Danse Classique of Monte Carlo, directed by Marika Besobrasova. Having won the Sponsor Club Prize for Best Dancer
